MEASURING AND THE AGE

OF HEIGHT CERTIFICATES

After careful consideration of requests from Regional Delegates on behalf of the Members, a number of whom have been finding it difficult to obtain measuring particularly when wanting to attend shows out of their Region, the decision has made by NZMHA Council to amend the 30 day maximum age of height certificates for Regional and National Shows and make it 45 days.  This change is effective immediately and has been made to assist NZMHA's Members.  Therefore the following Show Rule (page 7) has been amended:

G03 - ELIGIBILITY FOR SHOWING

G03.01 - General Rules

…

  1. No horse shall be shown at a NZMHA Affiliated Club show, Regional show or National Show without a valid NZMHA Show Height Certificate.

Such certificates shall be deemed to be valid for:
    1. A 3 month period from the date of measuring for foals, yearlings and horses two years of age.
    2. A 6 month period from the date of measuring for horses three years and over but under seven years.
    3. A 12 month period from the date of measuring for horses seven years and over..
    4. For all NZMHA Regional & NZMHA National Shows (including the Council nominated alternative AAA Show), no height certificates for yearlings or foals are to be older than 45 days old
